Editorial Image

This week I had to shoot an editorial image, which for this assignment meant five or more objects.  I went the baking route, and used different tools found around the kitchen.  Here is what I came up with.  Hope it makes you want to bake some cookies.

Handy, Reflective Chains

This week I had to photograph something reflective. My aunt Pat, a few years back gave my dad this monster of a metal hand as a gag gift. I decided to wrap the hand in chains (reflective) and created this photo, which I am super proud of!

White Line, Black Line, and Mason Jars

My assignment this week was to photograph glass in two different settings, white line and black line.  I decided to shoot blue mason jars for this assignment and I was very excited to shoot this one.  For non photography people, white line is the reflection of the lights on the edge of the glass showing the shape.  Black line is a silhouette of the glass outlining the edges and texture in black. Unfortunately when my jars were mailed to me one broke, but i decided to shoot it anyway with a different concept.  Here is the final product, which I'm really pleased with!

White line

Black line, and yes this was all done in camera in one shot!

Plants

We recently had to do an assignment of plant texture.  I will say now I liked my image, and then got to class and realized it was a failure... sad day.  Oh well I just found another way to fail but I learned from it, and plan to try again!  Here is what I came up with.  I'm convinced this plant looks like a bacteria or a dinosaur plant!  I shot the light through the leaves trying to show the texture, but it was way harder than expected.

This is the photo I turned in for the assignment.
